  Did a weekend retreat and it just felt wrong to be there. It was nothing more than white people wallowing in self-pity trying to feel "enlightened." When I get fliers from them, it's all white people who've stolen yoga and Buddhism from The East and are now profiting off of it. Most of them are old, so maybe they didn't know any better when they were young that cultural appropriation is wrong, but nowadays everyone should know that there's nothing to be gained from a white person claiming to know about spirituality. This institution should not be profiting off of other people's cultures or religions. You wouldn't hold an overpriced retreat so people could learn how catholicism or judaism can heal your life, would you?? You'd be called an anti-semite for profiting off of Jewish culture. We shouldn't be doing the same thing with other religions either!! Shame on this place. If you are rich and white, you'll probably like it. If you are anything other than that (aka NOT a colonizer), you'll understand why this place is doing more damage than good and will not waste money or time on it. The best thing this place could do is give the land back to the Native people whose ancestors originally inhabited it and stop stealing from other people's cultures.
